What Does Your Realtor® Want Out Of The Deal?

Reblogger Julie Baldino
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Front Door Realty WA 24504 / OR 201010056

Karen Fiddler of Orange County shares her reasons for being a realtor, and what she hopes for at the end of a transaction. I couldn't agree with her more, and believe this mindset is what every buyer or seller should look for in an agent. This job is not all about the paycheck, it's about making the client happy.... Our future business depends on it!

I'm not a monk, nor a priest, nor a volunteer, nor any of the many other people who take a vow of poverty.....I'm a Realtor®. This is how I make my living and I don't make that living unless deals close:

I work on 100% commission!

Now that I've said that....does that mean that I want a deal to close no matter WHAT? Of course not...I'm also a person who does care about the people with whom I work. How can I say that? Because I only work with people I like...another perk of working independently.

So the question for you to think about is this....What does your Realtor® want out of your deal?

If they are the kind of agent you want to work with, then I think I can answer it for you.

  1. First and foremost, they want you to purchase a home that you like...that is in the condition you are willing to accept and at a price you are willing to pay.
  2. They want it to close on time and on budget.
  3. They want you to have a simple process without a lot of stress.
  4. They want you to be so happy that you are a good referrence.....or future client.

And when all of these things are met? When they (we) get exactly what we want....we get paid. This is about process and service! Do we get paid often when things go poorly? When you pay too much? When you find a home that is a bigger project than you want? When everything that can go wrong does go wrong?

Yes we do sometimes.

But the only things we can control.....ARE THOSE THINGS WE CAN CONTROL. What you should want from a Realtor® is someone who is there for you through easy and tough. What WE want from the deal is to have a client who is so happy with what WE did....that they will remember our name. And refer to us.

That's what I as a Realtor® want from all my deals.

Great re-post Julie.  The satisfaction of being a realtor comes from many things beyond a paycheck.  Indeed, it seems that those who are in it just for the paycheck are getting fewer and fewer customers as buyers and sellers have the expectation of outstanding customer service.  Thaks for the share.
