Over 93,000 children, and an even greater amount of adults and seniors across Long Island, take advantage of emergency food programs. In keeping with the theme of the Thanksgiving holiday, the Advance Relocation Resource Group is teaming up with the Long Island Radio Group and Waldbaum's to support Island Harvest's Turkey and Trimmings Collection Campaign.
If you're interested in contributing to this very worthy cause, you can make a donation at the Waldbaum's on Route 110 in Melville. The address is 890 Walt Whitman Road (1/2 mile north of the Northern State Parkway on the right).
The goal of the Stuff The Mayflower Food Drive is to fill one large Mayflower truck with food. Aside from individual donations, businesses along Route 110 and throughout Long Island are being asked to place boxes in their offices to collect food as well. Once this food drive is complete, all of the food will be distributed to Island Harvest's network of member agencies throughout Long Island.
The Advance Relocation Resource Group has long been involved with giving back to the community, regularly donating warehouse space, furniture, trucks and time to various Long Island charities and non-profit organizations.
For more information about the Stuff The Mayflower Food Drive, please call 516-775-0453 (Ext 3). Island Harvest is also looking for volunteers for to help at events such as food shows, concerts, fairs and large food drives. If you're interested, please call 516-294-8528.

These type of food drives are wonderful and such a great way to reach out and help those in need. One of our local tv stations do a very similar type of food drive a few weeks before Christmas, traveling to all the towns and collecting food for the food bank. With the increase price of gas and heating cost, more and more families will benefit from these donations. I am this one in your area is successful.
