What an adorable and great picture. What will you be fixing for New Years? The part of PA that I grew up in had/has a tradition of pork, mashed potatoes and sauerkraut for good luck in the New Year. I didn't say adorable family PIG, I said supermarket pork.
Best wishes to you and yours for a fantastic New Year.
Sue of Robin and Sue
Thanks Sue! We may go out to dinner on New Years. I wish you a happy and prosperous 2012, it lookd promising!
Merry Christmas to you and yours a day late. You always have the most positive posts and now for the stupid question. Do you have a pig as a pet?
Thanks for the Christmas wishes Liz! Yes, we have Miss Prissy and Bacon and had 7 babies a couple of summers ago. They're FUN!
Hi Wanda,
We had beef for Christmas and spared the pig too and probably cornish hens for News Years as well. I do not eat pork but my family does so we do not cook it on big holidays since I would not enjoy the entree and would have to cook something else. Yes Wanda, we do not spare the cow but only the pig!!!!
Happy Holidays and have a Happy New Year.
Wanda,
That makes sense - definitely understand it. Of course, turkey or duck works, too. :)
Steve
Wanda,
Congratulations. Your post is now featured in "Observances and Celebrations." :)
Steve
Kristin, The pigs will be most appreciative! Happy New Year and eat more beef! (That is from the pigs!)
Steve, I like both chicken and duck and quail too! And thank you so much for the feature in "Observances and Celebrations." It is definitely appreciated! Happy New Year, 2012 looks promising!
