Public Menorah Lighting in Downtown Stuart
This year’s public Menorah lighting was held at the Riverwalk for the first time. A beautiful setting for the lighting as Rabbi Shlomo Uminer used the shamas to light the menorah. The event was sponsored by the Chabad Jewish Center of Martin and St. Lucie Counties on Thursday evening in downtown Stuart. The ceremony was conducted with the addition of a small festival featuring music, doughnut-making, free latkes, raffle prizes and more. A second public menorah lighting will take place Dec. 26 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Tradition Town Square in Port St. Lucie.
