PRESENTS? OR NO PRESENTS?

Every year my wife and I go through this same ritual.  We decide that we won't get each other gifts, and will instead get as much as possible for Ender(our grandson), Meagan(our daughter) and Matt(our amazing son in law).  Mostly we get for Ender.

So this year, just like I do every year, I have gone ahead and gotten a few things for Angie.  Yes indeed, you have correctly guessed, that's my wife.  After all, isn't the Christmas season all about making my wife happy?  We have been married going on 32 years and I believe I can hear from afar a unanimous Active Rain, "Yes Colin, of course that is what Christmas, Halloween, Labor Day, etc., are all about"

Happy Happy to all of you, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year!  Whatever you celebrate, please accept my wishes for happiness for you and yours.

Hi Colin: Merry Christmas to you and Angie, Meagan, Matt & Ender!

My family decided when my nephews and my girls were born to make the gift giving all about them - but hubby and I still exchange a few presents as well. It's the thought that counts though - it doesn't matter if it's a bottle of wine, hand-written note or something we had really wanted to splurge on but didn't because of other priorities. In the end, I'm always just happy to have my husband home with me!

Yes, it is all about family isn't it.  A couple things I did for Angie presents this year were to print off very recent photos of Ender and put them into frames and throw a little wrap around them.  Really, if you think about it, this kind of a gift to my wife is one I get an equal amount of joy out of.

Presents are always good on any occasion, especially when it comes from the heart.  Have a wonderful Merry Christmas with you family. :)
