Even though I'm licensed in Real Estate, I do not know the ins and outs of buying a Mountain Vacation Home and am looking for some help in this area. I'm sure those with the knowledge have suggestions based on "Lessions learned the hard way". Can you share these with me?
My husband and I are looking in the North Georgia Mountains, or Southern Tennessee Mountains. We fell in love with the North GA Mountains while living in Atlanta for several years. Now that we are in Southern Florida, we miss the change of seasons terribly.
We will probably want to buy land to build on as I have had way to much time to dream about what my Mountain Home will be like. :) Of course, the place must have a year-round mountain view. Privacy is a must, however I realize that this may come without a gated subdivision. Do I want a gated subdivision? Would it be difficult to maintain and protect property that's not in a community of some sort? Should I put the place in a property management situation?
It's exciting, but there's alot to think about. I don't want to go about this blindly, so who better to ask than a group of professionals with experience and insight--YOU!
