A Merry Military Pilot Christmas To All

Our friend is currently stationed overseas with the Armed Forces, he is a pilot. I am so glad that he is returning home soon.

This morning we received this message from him and I was so touched. I thought, I'd share his little message to honor all our military members who can not be at home this year.

Good bless. Be safe. Come home soon!

"Past 1:00 am Christmas morning as we ripped through the night, I wondered if those on the ground realize its Christmas tonight.

At 130 knots and a few hundred feet, the roar of the turbines must have been quite a treat.

Did they think it was Santa, that he might have come here, to tell them of Christmas, of love and good cheer?

And now Christmas morning and I look around, I realize I’m still in the desert, nope, it’s not Christmas Town.

As I look upon the stockings hung from the Cyclic with care, I hear one of the pilots shout, “Santa doesn’t come here, and he won’t see them there!”

I think he may be right as my heart fills with fear, but then I realize these stockings are full with the love and support from all of you back home, that I hold so dear.

And so as the end of my time in this wasteland draws near, I want to say thanks to you all,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!"

Super glad my Air Force Captain (son) is home this Christmas.

(Is it a safety thing for potentially anyone who reads this to see what the inside of our cockpits look like? I have no idea, but the thought did strike me, "could the photo be used against us?")

Perhaps I'm paranoid, or perhaps I have lived with my son to long, "Mom if I tell you _____ I'll have to kill you."

Wow, what a powerful message... thank you so much for sharing it with us. I join you in thanking our military in all they sacrifice for us all. My own nephew is in Germany, away from his family during the holidays for the first time in his life. At least he isn't in a war zone, but it has still brought home to us how thankful we are for our military.
