In Honor of All My Canadian Friends - Happy Boxing Day!

Now, I'm not so sure what Boxing Day represents, so please chime in if you know, but here's a post I wrote with a "boxing" theme some time ago.

So, without further ado, I unleash it upon you once again...

Sure Sylvester Stallone was Great in Rocky...

But How Many Rounds Could He Go in the Wonderful World of Real Estate...?

Sure Sylvester Stallone was Great in Rocky... But How Many Rounds Could He Go in the Wonderful World of Real Estate...?

Now I'm not a fan of boxing, and I laugh at folks who say they'd get in the ring with Mike Tyson for a million bucks.

Truth be told, it would cost at least that much to unscramble your brains if you did go toe to toe with a guy like Tyson.

But, my dear readers, admit it. The original Rocky was a great movie. Sylvester Stallone did a great job in that screen gem.

He was one tough cookie. And you have to be tough to be a boxer.

Which brings me to the point of my post today. You have to be pretty tough to be a Realtor too.

Times are tough for everyone right now. And, they're especially tough for those of us who work on commission.

Rocky had a tough challenge. But he trained and trained and trained. And, against some pretty strong odds, he eventually won that battle.

You can too. Work hard. Hit your database daily. Learn how to market yourself and your listings better.

Never pass on an opportunity to network, and always ask for the referral.

So, while Rocky might not make it in the wonderful world of Real Estate, his training and perseverance paid off for him.

It will for you too.

Now get out there and give it all you've got.

Be a champ!

Oh, and one last thing... Before you make any jokes about how wonderful my physique looks in the picture above, please remember that I look more like the guy in the picture below....

Craig, you CRACK ME UP!!!!  Personally, I love the bottom photo, LOL.

As to boxing day - it's a day the US should copy.  It's the day when you're supposed to "box up" your old stuff from the last year, put them to the curb for charity pick up or drop them off.  It think it's a wonderful tradition!!!

Hi Craig - Some of the American chains such as Best Buy that are in Canada have started to have Black Friday sales (which is not a Canadian concept) on Black Friday.  We get to have our Boxing Day sales as well as all of the other pre-Christmas discount sales that occur.

Craig, great reminder to go wish our Canadian friends a Happy Boxing Day.  I like your Boxer/Realtor analogy...all important things for us to remember and set into the daily routine.

It appears that Boxing Day has nothing to do with the sport of boxing or Sly Stone....but I do like your clever association!  Love the pictures, especially "little" Craig!

I posted my traditional Happy Boxing Day post just a few hours ago.  'Boxing Day' was the day after Christmas when all the left-overs from the feast were boxed up and handed out to the less fortunate.  Charities received boxed used clothing, etc. It started out as a day to give to the less fortunate. There's a little more to the tradition, but that should suffice ;-)

Happy boxing day to you. I was thinking of Geddy Lee and his tribute to Canada. I know what you mean about people getting in a ring with Mike Tyson

We were flicking channels last night and the Rocky movie with Dolph Lundgren was on.  Of course we stopped and watched.  How can you not watch when Rocky is on?

Great pep talk but give yourself more credit - you really are alittle taller than that picture!  :-)
