Merry After Christmas - Resolutions Anyone?

I don’t know about you, but I certainly had a beautiful Christmas holiday. I cannot however, believe how fast the time has past. I truly hope however you celebrate the holiday season, you took time for yourself and your loved ones.

New Year’s Resolution Anyone?

About this time of year, everyone starts to decide what New Year’s resolution they will undertake. You have some of the most popular…lose weight, get out of debt, buy a home…the list goes on.

Does anyone really stick to their resolutions?

After talking with family and friends over the holiday season, I determined that while most people select a resolution, not everyone sticks to them. So, why if this is the case, do we make the resolution to begin with?

I triumphantly pick a new resolution each year. I strive my hardest to attain my goal and sometimes make alternations along the way.

This year. I’m not sure what I want my new goal to be. I have a few in mind. But, I like to keep things simple. Pick one, work at it until it’s achieved and then move onto the next. I feel more accomplished when I do this.

So, I figured I would scope things out and see what everyone else has decided to pick for their resolution or if you are going to pick one at all.

A few questions to ponder…

If you could pick one thing you want to achieve for the new year what would it be?

If you didn’t FEAR…what could you achieve?

I look forward to hearing what you have to say.

Let’s hash it out together.

My goal is to have 7 appointments or more per week (an appt = a buyer in my car or a listing presentation).

This should get me to my financial goal...

I don't bother with New Year's resolutions.  I fee you shouldn't need resolutions to motivate you to do what you should do.  Give your best everyday and the results will come.  Best of luck to you Ness.

I've heard a lot lately about making very small, but important resolutions... small enough that we might actually follow through. So instead of saying I'm going to lose a bunch of weight, I'm going to say I'm going to cut out after dinner snacking and stick to one soda a day. Once that's accomplished I'll move onto another small step. Maybe eat an additional piece of fruit a day. And so on. Hopefully, they'll add up to big improvements.

I set six to ten on my different faucet of life and work on them, I write them down on a 4 x 5 card and carry with me whereever I go and check it at least twice a day to see if I'm on track BTW I break each goal into weekly to do's

Dennis - Positive thoughts = Positive results!

Kristen - Love your goal of 7+ appointments in a week. Make sure you associate measurable goals ot your resolution! GOOD LUCK :)

Jerry - Agreed! Perhaps writing things down might make it easier to stay on task and achieve your goals?! All the best for 2012.

Laura - Dream goals are great! make sure to keep things simple - use the K.I.S.S. approach and ensure you can measure your success.

Jeanne & Ralph - Your goals for 2012 are so important. Your website, online presence are important as well as, your involvement in social media. I can help you with all the above and help you achieve your goals.  Let me know when you're ready to get started.

Gretchen - I believe your on track! YES! You've got. The key to setting any goal is to ensure you start small, keep it simple and ensure it's measurable.  Having small, simple goals will increase your frequency of gratification from achieving your goal.  Don't get discouraged!

Charles - Breaking goals into weekly milestones is genius! How's that for receiving a pat-on-the-back?! If that won't motivate you, I don't know what will. Great job! Keep it up for 2012.

Rob - No doubt! - That's exactly what I'm talking about.  Let's make goals realistic shall we? Thanks for your input!!
