Us stagers -- well, we must be nuts!  All of us!  Do you think we have a "moving" fetish???  Statistics show that the average person moves every 5 to 7 years.  I mean, seriously, who in their right mind would want to go through the process of moving to a different home a couple times a decade let alone make a move a couple times a week???

moving

Okay, so we don't actually move, but we perform the act of moving.  The stagings that really bring this thought to mind though is when Peachtree Home Staging in Atlanta gets to pick stuff up at one house in the morning and move it right to another house in the afternoon.  We moved in home staged this vacant home early December.

2 weeks later this home was under contract.  After the contracts due diligence period was satisfied, we moved in home staged a mile up the road in the Chamblee area of Atlanta.  This next home was completely different so we changed up our look some!  Hope you like it!

Hi Karen, I actually love moving so being a professional home staging allows me to assist others to move and keeps my husband happy.  Good luck in 2012. Nice staging photos.

Karen...good to see you!  Truth be told I think that I do have a move fetish.  I have moved on an average of every 2.66 years as an adult and I do get easily bored with homes.  Not as much since staging full-time but I have starting searching for the next house.  Beautiful photos and staging of the moves that you're making.  Love the art behind the candlesticks.  Happy New Year!!

Thx so much Sea to sky!  Those are kind words that warm my heart!

Hi Julie -- yeah in the moving business without all the closet clutter :-)

Hey Wendy -- I think staging does decrease my desire to do it personnally!  Happy New Year to you!

Awe, Ginger thx for the kind words, but seriously every 2.66 years!!!  You have a very patient husband, oh my!  Here is my secret -- I haven't moved in over 18 years and I still love my home.  I love updating it!!!

Karen - Great before/after shots!  "Moving" so frequently is certainly not for the faint of heart!

We should each post a few photos of us moving the inventory in and out of the houses . . . I do think we are a little crazy in a good way. The end results are so great to see aren't they

Hi Karen ~ I love "moving" too -- the kind you're talking about here!   Your two examples look great as usual.  I did a 'move' the other day and my back hasn't yet recovered -- thank goodness for Advil PM  :-)

I can't tell you how many times when I've explained to acquaintances what it is I do, where they respond with "that sounds like moving" followed by a quick "yuck."  Makes me laugh.

Your "moves" posted above are great examples!

Congratulations. Your home staging is being featured in the group Staging Before and After Pictures.

Karen- I love the Before's and After's in both homes!  I can think of one good thing about a back to back destaging then staging... you don't have to pack everything up again! Beautifully done.

Lovely, both stagings! Our stat is more like 4-5 years, and we've been here 3 1/2, but I haven't started getting the itch, yet:) I'm also constantly redesigning, repurposing or repainting! Congratulations on your feature!

Can't say I love the moving part, but do love the results!  We haven't had the pleasure of moving one staging to another yet.  Sort of like "two birds with one stone."  Love your before and after photos and the changes from one house to the other, especially the 3 glass candle holders from the coffee table in the 1st house to the dining table in the 2nd house - color goes well with the pictures.

Hi Karen, I think we stagers all liked to play house when we were little. Staging allows us to play all day, every day!  I move so much my husband doesn't even come to look at the houses anymore. He says as long as I am there, he's a happy camper.
