Woodbridge Homes Give You Choices When You Want Tasty Ribs
You are new to the Woodbridge area, and you want the lip-smackin' flavor of some slowly smoked ribs, with potato salad, greens, or cole slaw on the side.
You have three great choices.
My favorite Mom & Pop local rib restaurant is Dixie Bones, on Occoquan Road, just one block from Route 1. The staff has been the same for as long as I've been around Woodbridge. I don't have to ask for my iced tea... the waiter brings it to me as soon I sit down.
My favorite dish at Dixie Bones is chopped beef brisket because I'm from Texas, and in Texas, Bar-B-Que means beef brisket, slowly smoked over hickory or mesquite.
I get a side of greens and my wife shares a plate of Dixie Chips with me. Dixie Chips are extra thick potato chips, freshly made in the kitchen.
Famous Dave's is my favorite place to go when I get the urge for baby back ribs. The meat just falls off the bone.
I get a side of slaw and a side of potato salad.
Their corn bread muffins are sweetened with just a touch of minced onion, and I slather them with butter for a tasty treat.
Famous Daves is conveniently located on the Prince William Parkway, less than half a mile from I-95, in front of Target and across the street from my office.
Smokey Bones is a new addition to our local bar-b-que restaurants, and I've only been there twice.
I had spare ribs that were divine. The service was fast and friendly.
I don't remember what I had on the side, but it must have been good, because I have only fond memories of Smokey Bones.
The architecture will make you feel like you are at an inn in the mountains of New York.
