Every 6 months, I teach technology at the local board. Every 6 months, I have to update my tech stuff, because of all that has changed. I thought I'd tell you my top 3 programs.
www.zipskinny.com This is truly amazing. Go this from my mother (Thanks Mom). Zip skinny is a beta test, free website. Type in the zip code you want to check, and the most amazing demos come back. More data than most of us could digest, and it compares you to the close zip codes around your target. Really nice info, and easy for any one to navigate.
www.Jott.com This is a huge step in voice recognition software. It is in a Public Beta test, and it also is free. Works with any phone, but most usefull with your cell (I think). Register, then dial up a toll free number. Speak into your phone, and it converts voice to text. Send your self a todo list, blog (no, I'm not using it now), send email and text messages. You can email from anywhere, and you don't have to have expensive phones, or laptops.
www.voicegenesis.com I've written about this before, and they've added more providers. Works with your cell phone provider and your email provider. $4.99 every month, unlimited use. Recieve email as a text message on your phone, on demand or with email push. Once you recieve, you can respond with a voice recorded email, or use Jott.com above for a typed message. Really easy, fast, and cheap.
