We don't know why the phone keeps ringing, maybe it is a result of our actions.

We have been very fortunate with the weather here in the Sacramento area, with temperatures in the low 60’s and clear skis, it’s hard to believe that it is late December. It has allowed me and the guys to continue working both inside and outside as if it were October. I am grateful for that!

I have several projects that are hard to schedule, we don’t know how long things will take until we open stuff up and find the problem and the extent of it. We have managed to keep the projects short and at a minimal cost on several projects this week. But by doing so, we have started earlier on the next improvement project. Much of our work is in the apartment communities in our area, moving start dates can be a challenge. Giving notice to residents, ordering materials, and other timing issues can make such a reschedule cumbersome, if not impossible.

In fact, we were so far ahead of schedule, we couldn’t move up the next job until next year (next week). While contemplating having time off, my phone started ringing. “Can you look at moisture problem in a closet today?” was the first call. Minutes later, “The bank needs to have this list of things done before they will finalize the loan on the apartment refinance, when can you come look at these items?”

Wow, and I thought that Christmas was over.

So why does my phone keep ringing? Why do those gaps seem to get filled in with just the right job, at the right time? Could it be 

 Karma? Marketing? How about “dumb luck”?

I’m not sure what the answer is, but this much I do know.
