Sometimes it is OK to ask for directions...

By
Real Estate Agent with Bucci Realty, Inc. BK3064647

mapIn the old days (pre-GPS) we often had to rely on paper road maps.  Yes, Virginia, we really did!

And somehow I always seemed to end up taking the scenic route.  This is where I also confess I never stopped and asked for directions...that is giving up!

TOMTOMToday I continue to unintentionally take the scenic route even with the use of my genuine TomTom GPS (with a very fake sounding Homer Simpson voice telling me where to go!).

I can’t really blame Homer either…you see I sometimes will try to go it alone because I know the area somewhat.

Sometimes even when I am using the GPS I choose to disregard the “recalculating” and continue on my own refusing any assistance whatsoever!

Sometimes I arrive where I intended.  Sometimes it becomes necessary to turn on the GPS after I have obviously made a wrong turn somewhere or have reached the point of maximum tolerance!

If you are selling your Brevard County, Florida home in this market as a for sale by owner (FSBO) you may find yourself on the scenic route or reaching a point of maximum tolerance!

It may be time to GPS – Get Professional Support – hire a local Brevard County Real Estate Agent/ Realtor®.

And if your Brevard County home for sale listing has expired, maybe your GPS needs “recalculating.”

Call me if you are considering buying or selling your Brevard County, Florida house or condo!

If you are considering selling your home in Brevard County including short sales, email me if I can help in any way.

It is OK to ask for directions.........

I do have a GPS device which I use; however, there are times when I just KNOW it's wrong.  One time my GPS had me going across a river, driving 30 miles north, then coming back to my side of the river.  So I stayed on my side of the river and drove north, all the while having a spirited conversation with my GPS (a woman).  I kept saying, NO, I will NOT make an illegal U-turn; I'm driving north bozo.  Anyway, eventually she caught up with me.

I do admit to still loving using regular maps, and I also sometimes look up the directions ahead of time online and just go without GPS.  It's fun finding new routes you hadn't intended to take.

Have a great evening.

I also don't have GPS, mainly because it is expensive and I get free Thomas Guide mapbooks each year.

Best wishes for 2012!

Gary, except if you're a man :) lol Seriously, my husband LOVES his GPS while I think we should throw it away half the time because it is taking us on a route that I know isn't the best. They are fun, though and when they work, a life saver if you are not sure where you are going.

Sometimes I try to "fake out" my GPS by taking a short cut ... love it when it tells me to do a U-turn.

I love my GPS as it has saved me when showing homes in the multitude of new neighborhoods popping up around Austin. I don't need it in town as I have been here so long I practically know every street. My husband is shocked when he gives me an address and I can tell him exactly how to get there.

Cynthia - Fake it out...yes that is what I do but the Homer Simpson (I call him Homey!) starts his incessant ranting about turning around!

Betina - I can see using on ein the big cities like Austin! Tahnks.

Gary, I love my GPS!  Although it took some time for me to learn how to listen to my GPS and my clients at the same time.  Once I mastered this task, it became a win-win for us all.
