There ARE opportunities for affordable homeownership in Ashland!

                                                                                              

The City of Ashland typically has higher prices for homes than other areas of Jackson County, and it is because of this, they are the one City who makes the greatest effort toward providing opportunities for affordable housing in Jackson County.

                                                    

The City of Ashland is providing support for a Rogue Valley Community Development Corporation (RVCDC) project on Siskiyou Boulevard in Ashland. It is their Mutual Self-Help Program, and if you have the 32 hours per week available for the sweat-equity requirements, and can meet the low income/credit guidelines, what a wonderful opportunity to become a homeowner in beautiful Ashland!

At Habitat for Humanity/Rogue Valley's October 2007 Board Meeting, they voted to pursue another possible partnership with Ashland Community Land Trust to build two homes on Bridge Street. They'll need to raise substantial funds in order to accomplish this, but will hopefully be building two more homes with Partner Families in 2008. Go to www.roguevalleyhabitat.org to check their guidelines if you would like to see if you may qualify, or call the office at (541)779-1983, and ask to be put on the notification list for the next Orientation Day. 

The City of Ashland recently put out a Request for Qualifications from all the non-profit Jackson County Affordable Housing Developers on another project they are hoping to be built. Like the two homes being built in partnership by Habitat for Humanity/Rogue Valley and Ashland Community Land Trust across from Garfield Park in Ashland, the proposed 5 unit project would be by another future park, a great location for families.
