Huntersville Homes - Tanners Creek Community

This is Matt Sarver with Keller Williams Realty in Lake Norman.  Tanners Creek is located off Beatties Ford rd in the west part of Huntersville just south of Mcllwaine rd.  The community is about 5 minutes a public boat launch on to Mtn Island Lake and about 10 minutes from Blythe Landing which is a public boat launch onto Lake Norman.  Just south of Tanners Creek is Latta Plantation which is acres of trails, horse back riding, picnic areas, fishing, a historical Plantation home with tours and home to the Carolina Raptor Center.  Year around activities such as Civil War reenactments and Haunted hay rides during Halloween are some of the activities they plan.  Also, just North is Rural Hill which also has reenactments and during September and October they create the Amazing Maze which is a Corn field carved into a maze.  They turn it into a game where you have to collect pieces of a puzzle to help you find your way to the finish.  With year around activities near Tanners Creek it makes the community a great location not to mention if you work in Charlotte then you can by pass traffic by taking Beatties Ford rd and connecting to I-77 on Sunset rd getting you to Charlotte within 15-20 minutes.  Tanners Creek has a rural feel but shopping is within 10 minutes of any direction and sits between Birkdale Village and North Lake Mall.  Homes in Tanners Creek in 2007 range in price from $160,000 - $270,000 and offer a wide variety of styles of homes including homes built by DR Horton which have rear load garages and detached garages, Ryan homes, South Hampton Homes and Adam Homes.  The community is divided by a creek and large pond and they kept trees throughout the neighborhood and planted trees all along the streets.  There is a jr. Olympic size community pool, club house, play ground, recreation area and a small walking trail. Home owners compete for Yard of the Month and most lawns are well landscaped.  Typically, you will see people walking there dogs or jogging around the community and on Friday nights walk over to the Hopewell High school football game.  The HOA is real active and distributes a community newsletter and plan community events such as movie night, Adult swim night party, Halloween costume contest, easter egg hunt, etc.  Tanners Creek is a great value community and can typically save about $20,000 for the same house compared to homes next to shopping and restaurants in Huntersville.
