Cincinnati Area Family Friendly New Year's Eve Options
Hard to believe 2011 is about to close the doors! Another year flown by but still time for a last celebration! But where to go? The good news is you have some options!
Happy Zoo Year at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden is one choice! You've still got the Festival of Lights display (millions of LED Christmas lights) and quite a bit more! Madcap Puppet Theater, Baby Zoo Year, at a bit more! And the cool part, no staying up until midnight! A countdown at Wings of Wonder Theater finishes up at 9 p.m. and fireworks right after! All included with Zoo admission ($14 or less depending on age). More info at www.CincinnatiZoo.org or call 513.281.4700.
Head down to Fountain Square for Toyota's New Year's Eve Blast! Party starts at 8 p.m. Other than parking and what you spend on food/drinks, it's FREE. Ice skating, a DJ, and a bit more. Countdown at midnight, and fireworks right after! More info 513.763.8036.
Oakley Square has The Ball on the Square: Fire and Ice. Starts at 8 p.m. and wraps at 1 a.m. Live music, Cincinnati Circus performers, a midnight ball drop and Rozzi fireworks right after the drop! Call 513.533.9386 for more information.
Or if you want a chance at picking up a 7-10 split, head to Star Lanes at Newport on the Levee! $50 gets you 3 hours of bowling and shoe rental along with a midnight champagne toast. Four person minimum. Reserve your spots by calling 859.652.7250.
Us? We'll probably be watching The Walking Dead marathon on AMC (no kids here to worry about traumatizing!).
Happy New Year!
