Orlando Property Manager Dennis Burgess- A Realtor says goodbye?

Rather lengthy video here... I'll forgive anyone that can't sit through this much of me- I can assure you I never intended this thing to be as long as it turned out to be.  The nature of it, though, lent itself to being an un-abridged and un-edited thing.

Part I here speaks to the Orlando real estate market in general- but most specifically in dealing with the rental and property management side of things.  2012 is shaping up to be a great year.

Hope, prayer, planning and hustle...

In 2012, there's an increased or enhanced sense of hope that's permeated the rentals side of life- hope that hasn't been around in a while, the old friend hope whose visit is long overdue.  Prayer's an integral part of all things good, and I'm praying that my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ will bless the rental market this coming year.

Planning is necessary, too- for who hasn't heard the old saying that if you fail to plan, you're planning to fail?  Business plans for both broker and brokerage, sales associate/contractor and admin staff folks alike must all come together to play any symphony of success.  And you have to hustle... The best-laid plans have been known to fail when one (or many) have chosen the path of laziness and sloth over that of hard work and fortitude.

In Part II here, I speak a bit about the past year for me personally and what's to come in 2012:

Sometimes, Miss Kitty kicks Marshall Dillon to the curb, and the cowboy doesn't always win.  An old saying goes that you "dance with the one that brung ya" (attributed to both Alabama's Bear Bryant and Texas' Darrell Royal).  You stick with your identity.  I got away from that this year, and I hate it.  I'm no longer the software engineerin', computer guy I once was- and I probably would've been better off eschewing social media for a while and going with what I've always done best...just talkin' to folks.

Hustle and heart, hustle and heart... I love to hustle, I love to work hard for my owners, and I have a heart that won't let me stop until it stops.  Folks never get anywhere without moving their feet.  God's given me a motor that rarely quits- and despite any of the medical problems I have (epilepsy, narcolepsy, sleep apnea and a peripheral mononeuropathy that leaves me with little feeling in my right leg, for those unaware), that motor it's a gift I'm most thankful for and one I surely don't deserve.

Orlando Property Manager Dennis Burgess- A Realtor says goodbye?

Our Orlando Regional Realtors Association (ORRA) has some 7,334 members- and all of us can't succeed.  I'm no better than any other Realtor that's fallen by the wayside in the past or will do so in the next couple of days.  Many work hard and do well, some work hard and don't, some don't work and do.

My big regret here is that I'm letting some folks down.  I've wanted folks to have high expectations of me and for me- wanted to set them sky-high, then sit back and watch me exceed them.  I'm blessed with a gift of eloquence that I don't deserve- yet I've looked to use it toward some unknown end in "just helping folks".  I don't rightly know that I've done a good enough job of that.

Is this goodbye?  I don't know.  But I do know that if I go down, I'm going down swingin'.

May the good Lord above bless and keep each of you this holiday weekend and always.  May He provide you and your loved ones cover and safe travels wherever you go and however short your trips might be.  May He protect all who venture out this New Year's Eve night, and have all arrive home just as they left them.  Amen.

Thank you for your readership, I'm much obliged.
