New Year's resolutions will be approaching momentarily. Some of us will resolve to change some of our personal and business habits that have led to not so great results. More exercise and healthier eating are always on the list!!
Do you have a New Year’s resolution for your business practice? We’ve all had our fill, at this point, of reviewing and making adjustments to our game plan for 2012. Have we thought about our bad habits, in reference to our business?
Come on folks, admit it!!! We all have bad habits, even the most productive and seasoned agents have bad business habits. I’ve always said that the best part of hiring a newly licensed agent is that they come with "NO BAD HABITS."
One of my worst habits over the years was NOT CREATING A DATABASE OF CLIENTS. There were years when I had so many new construction communities that it was just too much work to create a database of all of those people plus handle all of the transactions. I didn’t have the time, and I was making enough money to not even have to think about it!!
We are always punished for our sins, aren’t we!!! My punishment is that I now market to the entire town to make sure I have everyone covered. It’s a big financial hit every month, but I created this monster by not having a database of names for over 30 years.
That was my bad habit, and I’m paying for it now. I hope you have no significant bad habits that will result in severe punishment for you. Avoid that by correcting those habits NOW while you can. Make that a New Year’s Resolution that will result in a positive now and for the future. My guess is that there are many who are guilty of not keeping up with this particular task!!!
