Last month, LVMPD hosted the 17th annual K-9 trials at the Orleans Hotel/Casino. It is one of the oldest and largest K-9 competitions in the country with 46 participants from Nevada, California, Utah, Arizona and Colorado.

The North Las Vegas Police Department SWEPT the competition!  Not only did NLVPD take 1st Place for Top Agency, they were also successful in taking 1st Place for Top Dog.

The participants were:

  1. NLVPD ~ Sgt. Blackwell and Nicky
  2. Officer Manteufel and Mazz
  3. Officer Schwanitz and Zorro

North Las Vegas Police Department won a total of 9 awards!  Other awards were:

NLVPD K-9 Unit

  • 1st place as Top Agency

Sgt. Blackwell and Nicky

  • 3rd place in Top Dog
  • 1st place in Agility
  • 1st place in building Search
  • 4th place in Obedience

Officer Manteufel and Mazz

  • 1st place in Top Dog
  • 1st place in Handler Protection
  • 5th place in Obedience

Officer Schwanitz and Zorro

  • 3rd place in Agility
