It's mid-November already -- How did that happen? We're leaving in just a couple of days to join the ranks of thousands of REALTORS from a little bit of everywhere, and as I woke this morning and began to write my to-do list for the weekend, the trip and the week ahead...I was reminded how at this time of year (well-any time of year) it is all too easy to get caught up in the hussle and hurry and lose sight of the wisdom and wonder.
I speak to agents and brokers every week who are caught up in the drama and doom and gloom bad market syndrome and while I gently remind them of the power of perspective, I, in turn, remind myself.
Peace of Mind. That extraordinary gift we give ourselves when we take the time to reflect on our days, our weeks or our lives and remember to count our blessings. Remember to keep it all in perspective. Did you have a closing today? No? Ok - but did you TALK to someone new? Did you touch base at least one, two -- ten of your sphere? Thatl's business - now - did you laugh with your child, connect with a friend, eat an incredible meal, listen to some music?
My next thought was, If NOT, WHY NOT? Which makes me laugh a little. When you call our office at ProspectsPLUS! and get put on hold for any reason, that resounding voice you hear is Jim Studebaker, our Director of Operations and former radio host sharing with listeners a litany of marketing ideas, tools, helpful hints and more. At some point in the loop he asks, "Are you marketing yourself effectively? And if not, WHY NOT?" It is just the inflection in the voice - we all love that part - all have our own "best impressions" and love to tease him just a little, which is just an added bonus - right? It is a good question though when you think about it. Are you doing those things that bring you joy, perspective, balance, growth (and ultimately) success? If not -- why not?
Is it because you don't know how? Don't want to? Are you too focused on the "OTHER STUFF" in life? I wonder sometimes - so many are first to jump on the negative bandwagon and lose sight of all the GIFTS we are given every day. Trust me, the negative will take care of itself. Go laugh a little, learn a little, see something new and gift yourself a little quiet peace of mind. You'll be better for it. A better parent, partner, friend, entreprenuer, business mogul...person. Try it...and If Not --Why Not?
Great perspective! Have fun at the convention!
