When you choose to Get Moving With Kelly, you'll find buying a home is a piece of cake.

Here is MY recipe for success:

STEP 1: We'll preheat the oven

(We'll get you pre-approved at the best rate and terms so that you become a more reliable buyer in the eyes of the seller, which can allow greater negotiating power)

STEP 2: We will carefully go over the recipe to make sure we have all of the ingredients we need before we get started baking

(I will evaluate your needs and wants and help you locate homes that fit your specifications as to price and location. This includes homes that are both listed in the MLS and unlisted, such as new construction and for sale by owner properties)

STEP 3: It's important that we crack each egg in a separate bowl to make sure it is good before adding it to the mix

(I'll prepare a Comparative Market Analysis of the selected home before we write an offer so you can make an informed decision and to make sure that you don't overpay)

STEP 4: We'll carefully blend the ingredients together

(I will help you structure an appropriate offer to purchase the selected home based on the best possible price and terms. I will present the offer on your behalf and negotiate a win-win for all parties)

STEP 5: Blending carefully (see STEP 4) will create a beautiful smooth batter

(Congratulations! Both parties are happy and we have a signed contract!)

STEP 6: The batter will be placed into pans and into the oven

(I will include a provision in the sales contract giving you the right to have a thorough home inspection and allowing your attorney to review the contract, making sure your best interests are protected at all times. I will also work closely with your lender to assist you in securing financing)

STEP 7: We will frost the cake

(appraisal, financing, insurance, final walk-through)

STEP 8: Finally, we will grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the fruits of our labor...a satisfying piece of cake

(We will attend the closing, where you sign all the documents and get the keys to your new home!)

I love this post !! But, I never crack an egg separately when I bake. Opps, I don't bake. But, a fantastic analogy.

11/10/2007 12:20 PM by Missy Caulk Ann Arbor Realtor Ann Arbor Real Estate (Keller Williams Ann Arbor)

Bob & Carolin: Thank you! Doesn't it make you want to bake something?

Philip: I'm finding that everything we do in life can somehow relate to real estate! Thank you for reading & commenting.

Missy: Thanks for always visiting my posts & all your wonderful comments. I really appreciate it! I'm watching Michigan lose right now and baking cookies!

KELLY:  This post has served 2 functions.  It has made me want to work with you as an agent and also to go and get some cake!  Nice job.

11/10/2007 03:49 PM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

Kelly - I must agree with Adam.  I am hungry now.  I am not a great chef, but there is a bakery nearby.

11/10/2007 03:54 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

Adam: I'm sure I would enjoy working with you too! It's been a long time since I had a piece of cake, actually. Sounds good, doesn't it? Thank you for stopping by & reading, I appreciate it.

Jason: It's that time of afternoon...too long after lunch and too soon before dinner. Wouldn't a nice piece of cake and glass of milk just hit the spot? Thank you for your comment! :)

Kelly:

That is just too darn cute!  You're pretty.  Successful. Witty. One heck of an agent!  And best of all...you've got kids going off to college...where as mine are here for the next 12+ years!  Just kidding...I don't want my kids going anywhere but they were in very HYPER moods today and have driven me NuTs!

I want you to know that I'm not joking about what I said.  I mean every thing that I just said about you.  You always are so cheerful and positive.  That my dear is refreshing.

Hi Kelly:  I am sure that your recipe for success will allow your buyers and sellers to both have their cake and eat it, too.  And, with your attitude... I am sure that is just the "frosting on the cake."  I think I had better quit with the food analogy, or else anything additional I say will sound "half-baked."

Great post... I liked the way you put it together.  Great job !

Very creative Kelly,  Now I have to go make some coffee for myself-  Too bad I didn't close on anything.

Kelly, what an interesting way to explain the process - I am sure it has been very succesful for you, Karen

11/11/2007 12:39 PM by Karen Kruschka - Fairfax Prince William Stafford County VA Real Estate Service (RE/MAX Allegiance)

Jessica: Kids have a way of making you crazy! Luckily, when they become teenagers you get to drive them crazy! Ha ha. Seriously, thank you for your kind words - that was so nice of you to say.

Karen Anne: Your response cracked me up! Get it? Crack the eggs? You're better at the food analogies than me! ;)

Judy: It's just a matter of time before you do...in the meantime I hope you enjoyed your morning coffee!

Karen: I'm glad you enjoyed it - thanks for stopping by!

Kelly,

This is absolutely darling!  I love it ... so creative and communicates the process so well.  Any chance you could publish this into a PDF (noting your full credit of course) and make it available for everyone.  I would love to add it to my pre-listing package.  And give you all the credit for the creativity!

Jan: I don't have any plans to publish...but feel free to borrow it if you like and adapt it to your market! Have a great day & thanks for your kind words.

Hi, Kelly! Great post - very creative! =)

I love your vintage illustrations - they look like they are straight out of my grandmother's Betty Crocker!

(BTW - I now want a slice of cake!)

Thanks, Kelly,

I would love to borrow your post, and I will let you know how it works out for me!  I'm sure many others will want to do the same.  You are so creative and generous.  Much appreciation.

You're welcome, Kelly! I'd also love to borrow this and adapt for our market for our listing presentations. (By the way, great idea, Jan!)

If that's okay with you - thanks in advance!

You're a modern day Betty Crocker for real estate!  SWEET! :)

Kelly:

I know this won't mean much to you in terms of immediate business because it was in Georgia...I showed this post to one of my clients that is a "amateur chef" (she makes great pies & cakes)...AND SHE LOVED YOU!

She told me that I best be glad that you aren't in my market!  Like I said, I know it doesn't mean much to you in terms of business down here....KEEP IT UP GIRL!  You are something special and will continue to go places!

11/16/2007 04:33 PM by Jessica Horton (Jessica Horton & Assoc.)

Jessica: What a wonderful compliment! Thank you for sharing that with me! If I was in my market, you know where I'd want to hang my hat!

11/16/2007 06:47 PM by Kelly Sibilsky ~ Lake Zurich RE/MAX Real Estate Agent (RE/MAX Unlimited Northwest)

Kelly:

I just had to share it with you.  I was explaining why I spend so much time Blogging.  I printed out several posts and explained how I read and learn new things from all of you guys/gals.  I explained the benefit to her and she had a fit about yours!

Like I said, I just wanted to share this with you and show you what a GREAT job you are doing.
