It seems many folks are going back and looking at which articles they wrote over the past year to see which ones had the most views, etc.  I know I had some big ones and it was fun watching some of them get comment after comment.  Let me tell you a bit about the excitement of watching the #1 post as it racked up comments.

When I wrote the article the #1 article, it was immediately featured.  It quickly got several comments because the topic was controversial and so was my position.  Most of the comments were constructive, a few weren't but as the morning went on, I watched as dozens of comments continued to pile up.  In a few hours, I had nearly 200 comments.  It was amazing and yet I had no way to reply to each one individually.  The topic took on a life of its own.  I hope to write an article with as much success this year - without being quite to controversial.

Bryan, A solid top 10 list!  And some post do seem to take on their own lives!  Between comments and reblogs they spread quickly.

We had some good wranging in that list. Good idea.

I did this for my wp site. If I could make money off "Where's Santa?" and "Where's the Easter Bunny?" I'd be a rich woman.

Do you run google analytics for this? I did for my AR outside blog and it was depressing - high bounce rate and less than a minute on site, and very little click through to the wp site. But I have good click-through from regular AR posts. So I'm dropping the outside blog and using regular AR and the wp site.

Bliz - Thanks!  It's fun when some of these take off.

Leslie - You should put AdWords on your site and see if you get some PPC revenue.  If those holiday articles got a lot of hits, that would be a nice bonus for the year.

As for Google Analytics, I use it on my outside AR blog and the hits are low compared to the AR site.  I have the same high bounce rate and low "time on site" rate (about 45 seconds).  I talked to Jeremy Blanton about building a WP site which I'll make happen sometime soon.
