Taking advantage of a snow day

Last night as I was writing out my “to do list” for the day I glanced outside to see snow flakes falling to the ground.  I hadn’t factored the snow into my goals for the day, and for a brief moment, I thought – I could just stay home and work twice as hard the next day.

I woke this morning to the sound of my six year old dancing around the house because school was canceled and there was a light dusting of snow on the ground.  Don’t you just love the way fresh snow makes everything glisten?

Although my daughter was making a very convincing case for why we should stay home, we proceeded into the office so that I could knock out my list.  Only one last item on my list: go door knocking to share with neighboring homes a price reduction had occurred.  Surely I could do this on a warmer day…?  It was 18 degrees (or felt like it)!

After taking my daughter home to be with my husband I headed to the neighborhood, in the bitter cold to knock on doors.

I confess that most homeowners were not home, but the one that did answer the door has invited me to give a listing presentation on Sunday at 2PM.  How about them apples!  Not a bad for a snow day.  Glad I pushed myself outside of my comfort zone.

Mary - Congrats to you for pushing through that urge to stay home.  I had a similar situation.  I looked outside after dinner last night to a beautiful dusting and had more this morning.  Bill drove our daughter to work so she wouldn't have to drive on the icy roads and, while taking a shower I wondered to myself why I didn't just stay in my jammies and work from home.

I'm glad I didn't though!  After dropping of our daughter Bill showed several houses to a client and then met me at the office where we promptly set a listing appointment for just after lunch.  On the way back to the office from the listing appointment, Bill's buyers from the morning showings called to say they wanted to meet us at the office to write an offer.

Ok, none of this would have been accomplished if I was sitting at home in my jammies!

Best wishes for your listing appointment!

Mary, you make me so thankful for "Lucky you live Hawaii".  My mother in law just got back from a one week trip to Anchorage Alaska and she said "never again will I go there during the winter!".  She said there was snow snow everywhere.

Mary - Congratulation on your determination getting a listing presentation on a cold day. Sometimes we need to have that extra push and be more aggressive to get a listing presentation or finish incomplate project.
