Winter is here in Venice, Florida. Many people may feel good for a change from the hot and muggy weather. Well, for the less hardy plants and trees, you need to cover them up to prevent cold damage.

The following are some of the ways to protect the plants and trees.

Kwee: Thank you for sharing the pictures- It looks to me like all of the trees are playing hide-and-seek!  :)

Kwee - Some folks apparently have some real creativity when it comes to solutions for protecting trees.  I didn't realize that Florida had freezing temperatures, until a couple of years ago, when I visited there right after a record freeze.

I didn't realize you had to cover the trees either.  Up here you see alot of that!

Goodness Kwee, there's some creativity there in those pictures.  Here in Northern CA it gets down to the high 20's once in a while but usually mid to low 30's in winter.  My husband uses white Christmas lights most of the time.  If it's going to get really cold, he'll throw a thin blanket over our citrus.  Anything else has to survive or it's not worth having here!
