Marylhurst University, answer to Where is it Wednesday...somewhere in Marylhurst, OR. 1/4/12

Congrats to Kat Palmiotti for for correctly guessing last week's Where is it Wednesday titled Portland Aerial Tram, answer to Where is it Wednesday...somewhere in Portland, OR 12/28/11

Each week I'll be posting a new picture on Wednesday morning(ish). The title of the blog will have the City where the picture is taken and I'll post the answer Wednesday evening...not only here on my blog, but on facebook business page (please click like and add yourself there) as well as tweetin it on my Twitter page and posting on Google+. Remember, you're free to google or use whatever there is on hand.

Hint: Oh, this one is just too easy...but for you out of towners, the hint is in the title

Marylhurst University has just actually taught me something today. I had no idea that Marylhurst was a city, but thought it was a neighborhood. In the real estate world, one would think that if there was a city called Marylhurst, than the homes that sell in this city should have that city name in the address right? Wrong.

Marylhurst is smack in between Lake Oswego and West Linn. If you did a home search in Marylhurst what will come us is "o results match your search", I know..I just tried. Instead, you'll need to look in Lake Oswego and West Linn to find some homes for sale in Marylhurst. Interesting for a small city that has it's own post office.

Anyhow...this from Wikipedia about the history of Marylhurst:

"Marylhurst University is a private Catholic liberal arts university located in Marylhurst, Oregon, United States, nine miles (14 km) south of Portland on the Willamette River. It is among the oldest collegiate degree-granting institutions in Oregon, awarding its first degree in 1897. Marylhurst was founded and run for many years by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, a Roman Catholic teaching order."

If you want to further your education at a small private university, then check out Marylhurst University!

Yes I already ate dinner, luckily.  These are great - we'll have to think of a way to get more people to look for your Wednesday mysteries!

It actually looks like a lovely small town college - a very inviting campus even before any other information is offered.
