So. at the meeting of Caring Communities of the Crow River Senior Center today, I got nominated to head up the Spring Expo. Why? Because most of it was my idea.
I thought that we could take all the vendors who want to market to our people and put them in our brand new auditiorium and let them make one good pitch. (With refinement, of course.)
Now, I am scheduling entertainment, booth space and coordinating the vendors, refreshments and the whole enchilada.
Not that I mind, of course. I love most of the people who come to the Center.
I know that this can help quite a few people stay in their homes longer....and while that wouldn't be conventional wisdom for a realtor, I also know that I want them there.
It is great to have the person who has lived in the community so very long nearby. They give us history and a view back of how far we have come. They have, at least many of them, lived through times as hard as these or much, much harder....think World War II, the Great Depression and beyond.
I want to do the best I can for them. I want them to be able to live lives of dignity, hope and promise for years to come. And, I hope that I can assist them in attaining those goals.
We are planning an April or May Expo. Wish me luck! And, if you have ideas, please let me know.
Upward and onward.......
