Coronado Island, One of San Diego's Elite Habitats

Coronado Hotel

This photo was taken from across the San Diego Bay at Cabrillo Monument at the tip of Point Loma near the light house. The views from Point Loma seem to go on forever. The vastness of the view on a clear day goes out clear out to the range of mountains in East San Diego.

Coronado Isalnd is actually not an island, it is a penninsula attached at the most southerly end.

The Grand Dame of Hotels, The Hotel Del Coronado takes up the entire frontal view as is evident by the clay red roof color.

Hi William.  I visited The Hotel Del Coronado many moons ago.  I didn't known whether it was still in existence.  I love the photo.. It brings back many memories.  Wishing you a very happy new year.

That's a pretty cool photo, William, especially with the Hotel Del featured so prominently. Coronado is, indeed, a speical, and expensive, place to live, and fun to visit as well. I love the approach over the bay on the Coronoado Bridge.

WOW - What a stellar panoramic view!  I can understand why you have expressed wishes to move to Coronado.  I also agree with Gary.  Somehow I hadn't pictured Coronado as being that peninsular.

Beautiful spot to be to take such a great photo! I was at the Hotel Del Coronado a few years back. I didn't stay there, but had lunch. You've reminded me of how much I wanted to come back and hangout there for awhile. I love the view you've captured so well. The blues and greens and reds are gorgeous. Nice composition!

Fantastic picture, William. We visited the Del Coronado when we lived out in LA. What a gorgeous place that is. I have heard that it is haunted--have you seen any ghosts there?

William, I have some very fond memories of a stay at the Del Coronado.  It was to give a speech to the trade association representing airline caterers.  This was back in the 1970's when they actually served real food.  And the food and wine at the dinner where I spoke was just amazing.  And what a beautiful setting.

Love you photo!
