Coldwell Banker 2007 Global Management Summit - Boca Raton FL Recap

    A few weeks ago I had the great privilege of joining 630 + Coldwell Banker Managers , Brokers and Owners at the 2007 Coldwell Banker Global Management Summit in Boca Raton ,FL.

      Jim Gillespie, President and CEO of Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC kicked the morning off with exciting news and a positive forecast for real estate. Joining him on stage was the newly appointed Chief Operating Officer Charlie Young who added to the spirit of the conversation.

Coldwell Banker is definitely a company prepared and dedicated to equip their Associates, Brokers, Managers and Owners with state of the art technology combined with old fashioned people skills.

    Innovative break out session focused on Management Success . These topics and discussions were hosted by successful panelists and speakers. I sat in on: Recruiting and Retention, The Power of blogging (Matthew Ferrara) , Coaching and Accountability and my favorite one- Marketing Power Thru Listing Distribution with Ben Phillips and interactive panelists from Google, Trulia and Yahoo Real Estate.

                       Featured keynote speakers were Seth Godin and Keith Ferrazi.

     Seth Godin was quite energized , entertaining and more importantly enlightening. His analogy of the agent (hunter) "hunting" down buyers and sellers vs. the agent (farmer) "farming" buyers and sellers was great. He allowed us to visualize and understand that point and shoot technique (hunting for business) was outdated and  inefficient. We essentially fertilize our farming by sphere contact, relationship building and planting seeds that will allow us to harvest our business. He has authored a few great books including his new one, The Dip. (another great analogy- but you will have to get the book ! )

    To sum it up I would say I had a good time and left with plenty of notes and tools to help me manage my Coldwell Banker Firstoffice. The food was tropical , delicious and plentiful- the networking was just as great !

    To boot it all, I got to slip away for two hours to visit my parents, grandma and uncle and aunt about an hour north in Palm Beach Gardens !
