Chester, New Hampshire Real Estate Sales Activity

Old Chester Town HallChester New Hampshire is one of those quaint little towns that if you blink you'd miss it while driving through it.

What makes Chester so nice is that it is a bedroom community and it has four corners as it's town center.

On the southeast corner you have the cemetary and on the north corner you have a church and southwest is a bank and a general store. The northwest corner is the old town hall and post office.

Across from the cemetary is a large monument on the town square. This past Halloween someone played a practical joke on the poor monument. Someone took a pumpkin and wedged it on the monuments head. My wife

Monika took this picture as she was driving by on her way

to Concord, New Hampshire.Monument with Pumpkin

Chester over the last twenty years has really grown and the town bult a new scholl a few years ago to handle the large influx of new students who have moved into town.

Chester changed it's zoning ordinance a long time ago by making building lots a minimum of 2 acres with 290 feet of road frontage. This sure does make for a lot of privacy between neighbors. You will fnd large tracks of land that were developed and use what is called cluster zoning, where developers can build homes a lot closer than what is in a normal subdivision.

All in all Chester is a great community and if you like the old traditional country charm you'll love Chester, New Hampshire.

Here are some sales stats for Chester between January of '06 to October of '06 compared to the same time frame in '07.

I love Chester...it is such a pretty little town. Some kids sure had fun on Halloween with that statue.

Chester is a wonderful town.  I think it is especially lovely in the fall.  I remember the first year I moved to New Hampshire -- I stumbled upon chester.  I love the open space and the small quaint town atmosphere.

Monika and I have always said we'd move to Chester if we ever left Hampstead and stayed in NH.

Joan, thanks for commenting it sure is a neat town.

Jay we have a few of these little towns in Connecticut also.  I don't know what it is about them but they just seem to have their own special character to them.

Jay, This is a nice look at a little town that has changed in population over the past 10 - 20 years but has retained it's small New England town ambiance. I love the pictures (esp. the pumkin) and your stats are a great way to measure the Chester market at a glance.

Hi Jay,

What a beautiful town and market report to go along with it.  Now I'll have to call you again to pick your brain for more great ideas.  Hey thanks for the last one, Bob worked on it today and it's working splendidly!

George, We have driven through Conn. and yes it is a lot like NH. Absolutely beautiful. I emailed you through AR last week, just curious did you see it?

Judy, thank you, and yes I love Chester.

Lisa, I'm around and only a call away. Glad Bob worked it out.
