Having a license to sell real estate in Pennsylvania, or any other state for that matter does not mean that this agent is a Realtor.  It means they are licensed to sell real estate- period. 

    When you are making one of the largest and most important purchases in your lifetime I am sure you will agree that you want to be able to do it with a professional that is not only knowledgeable about the transaction process, but with someone who holds themselves to a standard of practice above and beyond basic state licensing standards.  Being a Realtor is NOT synonymous with being a real estate professional.  Realtors are held to something called a code of ethics by the National Association of Realtors.  The Realtor logo after a real estate professionals name means that this person not only sells real estate, but does it within the highest of moral and professional ethics and is willing to invest their time, money and efforts to uphold those codes.

    So, when you are choosing the right person to help you with such a huge investment, don't you feel it is important to ask the question: "Are you a Realtor or just licensed to sell real estate?"

Faith - great blog, but remember - there is also no such thing as a Realtor (unless you want to use it as a slang or colloquealism).  The correct term for a NAR member is always REALTOR(R), never realtor or Realtor.
