It's a New Year...

... so bring it on!

I, for one, was not at all upset to say farewell to 2011. While the year professionally was very solid, the personal side got pretty rough with the loss of a few people that were important in my life, or in the lives of people I hold dear. The most devastating loss coming in December.

2012, while young in it's tenure, is proving to be a bit better on that front. I know three people diagnosed with cancer in December. One, my wife's grandmother, is very progressed and in hospice in her final days, but is comfortable and surrounded by her family. More importantly, they have taken the time to say thank you and goodbye, each in their own way. This is a gift that we are not always given. The other two, one of which is my mother, have found out in recent days that they got the lesser of the evils as far as the "C" word is concerned, and the prognosis is quite good. Thank you God is all I can say.

My clients have been quite understanding in light of the recent events, and quite gracious working around my schedule. Many have asked for regular updates despite not knowing any of the individuals involved other than me. This is a true testament of their character, and a glaring reminder that I am most definitely working with the RIGHT people. It is amazing how the gift of gratitude comes from the unlikely and unexpected places when we just pay attention.

So, to 2012, I say, "Bring It! What you got?". A very Happy New Year to one and all. Now, get to work people the Holidays are over...
