25 Comments on Sunday brainteaser - how many misspellings?
Wroung, Fill, LOL.
I'll have to stop by tomorrow for your answer? I can't seem to figure it out. LOL. My bwain is tired.
There were a bunch...I counted 20! What do I win?
Thanks for the teaser.
Margaret
Juli, I counted 21. Although I think in a sense Jane is correct with zero because many modern educators don't care about spelling or grammar.
Margaret, you'll need to count again if you want to win, LOL. 20 is not correct.
Gary, I didn't think about Jane's answer that way - that's too funny. And, you have the correct answer with 21. I'll print out the "cheat sheet" tomorrow afternoon for all to see. WTG.
I think about 50% of the agents in my area could have written that paragraph. No wonder why agents have such a poor reputation with the public.
I'd still say the answer was zero because most modern educators today would not find any, but I did count and got 21.
Cameron, you're so right!!! You should check out Gwen Banta's blog on Friday: Sherlock of Homes. She does a weekly series of MLS typos and it's hilarious!!!!
Yes, Roger, that's correct!!!! That's two correct - any more people getting them all?
Juli - modrn schooler wud liky use a cumputer to get the answer mswrd got 19 ..... but it appers from the cmnts above there are at lest 2 mor One would likely be rays the other could be years
Life is better when we can spell check our posts and our comments. Have a great week.

Juli, I'm late to the party again! The computer identified 20 mis-spelled words. What it did not pick up was the word that is spelled correctly but used incorrectly. (rays - should be raise). What do I win?
Well, I only came up with 19, so I guess I need to work on my spelling. (Already knew that...use spell check all the time)
Ah, a couple of you are SO close. Spell check would not catch BREATHE from breath - correctly spelled just the wrong word. So, for all you, here you go:
Answer: 21.
Many years ago, before modern education in the new millennium, one problem in schools was basic spelling and grammar. To combat this and raise achievement, teachers were advised to start at the very beginning, at the youngest age. Once they had managed to breathe new life into lessons, progress came quickly - success was then guaranteed. How many spelling errors would modern scholars identify in this paragraph?
Thanks for stopping by everyone - hope to see you next week.
Juli I'm late, but I finally got one right at 21
WTG, Karen. I had only come up with 19 like the rest of the people and had to go re-count after I had read the #, but before I saw all the words. This one was a little tricky because there were real words used - rays and breath. Looks like spell check has a ways to go yet. But, that's great you caught them all.
Juli, I had to count twice because I kept running out of fingers... I'm surprised that "paragraph" wasn't mispelled!
I got 19 and it looks like I must have missed 3. OOPS! (And I was a secretary for many years before real estate!) YIKES!
Silvia, I'll lend you a couple of toes, LOL.
Joni - I'm with you - I only got 19 the first time, as well.
I counted 20 then when you said no, I went back and did a recount and realized the word adviced should be advised. I like this brain teaser. More, please!
I'll try, Dee. I don't remember which ones I already prepared for next week, but as I make more, I'll look for this type.
