I always wonder what it was like when the first settlers came here and started laying the ground work for the  rest of us to enjoy. Talk about going out on the leap of faith. Here are some pics that show us what is looked like.

Living in Arizona, I always wondered what the first settlers that saw the Grand Canyon thought when they realized they needed to get to the other side...

Good Day.

I represent myself and others that are interested in any information (old photos, occasions and if possible dates) on the 'river bend' area of Peekskill. We all grew up and have family that have spent time at St. Joesph's. What we believe was the oldest orphanage (1840 - 1978) in the country.

The reason we ask you is because there seems to be an information vacume on the orphanage. Our oldest member was in St. Joesph's in '39 yet we have only been able to find three years of records and information; for an institution that was operating for well over a hundred years.

HI,

MY HUSBAND, CHARLIE BANUCHI, WAS AT ST. JOSPEPH'S ORPHANAGE FROM 1938 TO 1952.  HE PASSED AWAY IN 2004 BUT TALKED ABOUT THE"ACADEMY" FREQUENTLY DURING OUR MARRIAGE.

I CAME ACROSS THIS WEBSITE TODAY AND READ YOU MESSAGE.  JUST THOUGHT THAT I WOULD WRITE AND MENTION CHARLIE'S NAME IN CASE YOU KNEW HIM AND WERE INTERESTED IN INFORMATION ABOUT HIM.

MY EMAIL ADDRESS IS cabanuchi@verizon.net.
