The BCD's Of Life

Dancing Older PeopleSo often we hear tutorials for various classes like Math 101 or the ABC's of good investing for example. Think about

        The BCD's Of Life.

I know, there I go again, off the main script everyone else is on, but sorry it is who I am, and my lone voice out here in the wilderness <smile>. What do I mean by this?

The B and D are birth and death. We all have those dates like it or not associated with our mortal shells. The important letter in between is C, and that consists of all our CHOICES. Relationships, new jobs, new settings, how we handle the good and bad that life throws at us. We are the sum total of our choices and our LIFE itself is the choices we make.

They have a thought that how old would you be if you didn't know your age? Have you looked around at others sometimes? I see people in their 40's who look like they are in their 70's with aging, and frowns, and being worn out and used up. On the other hand I see much older people acting like they are in their 20's, with energy, positiveness, new ideas, friendliness, open minds. I think we all should be as young feeling as we can as long as we can.

There's greatness inside us. Let it out !! It's how you feel on the inside that determines your age. Add life to your days, not days to your life.

Live well with your CHOICES and you will never go wrong.

This post makes one "pause."  I recently did one of those life expectancy quizzes...apparently I'm good to go until 97 - darn, I was so hoping to hit 110 - perhaps, I'll make it yet. The choices may change again in the future with our new knowledge. ( By the way, still without an image today...noticed our pal Kristine Ginsberg's photo is also missing from her comments)

Beautiful post! Choice is so true! You can make good choices or bad. I tell my almost 13 year old all the time - you can go down the good path/road or the bad. It's your choice but it's hard to get back on the right path if you make the wrong choice.

Charlie: Thanks my man, I always love seeing you pop by here.

Janice: Congrats on stepping away from addiction, cause that can lead to ruin for any of us. WooHoo to YOU.

Connie: Live life with a smile, and YOURS is one of the best. Great comment!!!

Susan: I had not heard that Cat Stevens song before. Thanks. Perfect fit.

Carie: That number gets larger for us ALL constantly but a good point you make about learning lessons along the journey Carie.

Rebecca: I hope we are ALL young at heart at whatever age, and full of energy.

Marge: Out of the box thinking surely opens up new vistas for us.

Chris Ann: I like the thought of your Dad, waiting till things are clear with the choice.

Eileen: Well YOU are an ACE for sure in your world. Good one.

John in the Q: I read your roller coaster other post and hope things settle down.

Paul: The C is our main control, but good health habits extend the D I agree.

Debb: Well if any of us live to 97 or 110 good for us. That missing pic thing is some technical glitch and Kristine is in the club LOL.

LaNita: Great advice to your 13 year old, that they have to live their own life with THEIR choices!!

Gary, you are so clever. :) I love it! I decided to age backwards starting at 50. I love being in my 40s and look forward to my 30s! ;)

Gary, that's as beautiful as it is thought provoking.  I never used to think much about age actually, I have a hard time guessing someone elses age and often have to think about mine when asked for it! :-)

I never used to think about age until I started watching a show I think it was on VH1, behind the music.  The musicains on that show really looked so OLD, got me to thinking about people growing old!

Hi Gary - One of the most surprising things I've learned as I've gotten older is that I may be a little bit creakier than I was years ago, but inside I don't feel any older than I did at 25.

Gary... seeing that I am about to turn 68 in a few weeks... if I did not have any idea how old I really was... I would guess my age would be somewhere around 143 or so... give or take a decade.  And yes, you're right.  It's all about how you feel on the inside.  Thanks for the post.  I feel so "uplifted."   LOL.

And... since we are talking about "age" here... as you may know, tomorrow is Elvis Presley's birthday.  He would have been 77.  Thank you very much...
