Teri.... yes it is, especially as our memory gets older...  lol  And as I mentioned to someone else, I actually thought it was tomorrow, tomorrow being the 11th. But failing to realize today was the 11th all because of Google..  I am sure I would have noticed more when I would have seen more posts written today.

Another reason I love Google - they keep me informed of National Holidays.  Veterans Day - I often am amazed at our armed forces and just how much they sacrifice for us in the name of Freedom.  Nice post.

Freedom is not Free. I read something this morning on my radio show from an unknown author which was very moving. It lead to numerous calls from vets and so I put the usual show on one side today and we had a vet-fest instead.

Nicely done to each and everyone of you - this year - I celebrated Veteran's Day with a few VETS from our family - and remembered those that went before - thank you for all taking a moment of your day to say thank you

Jeff, thanks for your service to our country.  We have so much to thank our vets for.  As our son is getting ready for his second tour of Iraq it has been so wonderful to see all the post today honoring our veterans.  I'm glad to see your reminder for us to honor those that are still serving.  Our son does get a 4 day holiday so that is pretty cool.  He is now based at Fort Hood so gets to come home for the weekends; that is until he leaves for Iraq again.

Thanks for the post. We went to a wonderful Veterans Day community service today. It's a time for all to remember.

This is a very nice compilation and tribute Jeff.  I see that Debra posted above me.  I was thinking of her yesterday after she posted about her son leaving "for the sandbox" and my heart ached for her.

Jeff, I have to admit when I saw google's logo, I knew it was a holiday but I didn't figure they were helmets for Veterans day until I turned on the TV and saw a commercial for Macy's Veterans day sale.

Thanks to all who remember those who serve.  As the widow of an AF officer I know how much this day means to so many and I for one am glad to see the support that so many of AR share for our troops.

Ryan....  I think many in the real estate business are working today. Even though banks were closed and schools, because it was a Federal holiday, I think most people in the real estate world worked. I talked to two title companies today that were opened also.  Don't forget, the AR gods are getting ready for NAR in Vegas also...

Thanks for your recognition, heads up on Google and the links to these posts. I will make it a point to work my way thru them. By the way, received my retirement orders, pension kicked in... and in process of converting healthcare. 

My wife and I went to Patrick AFB to PX and Commissary a few weeks ago.  It was great as it had been sometime since we had done this.  Traffic was a nightmare....as we neared the east cost the Shuttle Discovery was launched.....absolutely awesome!  I had forgot about the launch being scheduled.  What should have been a 6 hr excursion turned into about 10 hours.
