Dublin

Consumers:  Please visit Discover Columbus for CURRENT Central Ohio Real Estate Market Reports - this is old news but for some reason there are still a lot of views.  Although ActiveRain / Localism has a category for market reports a local ActiveRain member was highly opposed to my sharing this information.

The numbers below are single family, townhouse and condominiums for sale and sold in the City of Dublin (Dublin Corporation.)  Dublin is a suburb of Columbus in Central Ohio. The graph above and chart show market demand by comparing current inventory to number of homes sold in a 15-month period.   Dublin Ohio is in Franklin and Delaware County, but for Active Rain, Dublin is considered Franklin County, these statistics are for the entire corporation regardless of county. Sales are down in Dublin, it's a great time to buy.

The graph and table are from Trendgraphix.  Data is from the Columbus Board of REALTORS® MLS.

Maureen, I am easily overwhelmed by graphs & charts, but it appears the ratio of “sold” to “for sale” properties remains relatively consistent. Are you noting any trends?

Yeah Dublin is a great place nb                          es

oooooooooooops kitty on the key board... as I was saying Dublin is a great place to buy right now, lots of inventory, prices are down... things are still selling within 3 % of list so sellers better have it priced right. As I was putting up the Westerville info I was noting how different the two markets are.  Geographically Dubin is just west of my home base in Worthington, just east is Westerville.

I look closely at the months of inventory... almost a year in some markets, a year ago in Dublin there was just under 6 months supply, there is almost 11 months supply now.

If someone is not a graph and chart person, this is probably not going to appeal to them... but when I was posting them on Columbus Best Blog where I can see what entries are being viewed the most via Google analytics, there are graph freaks.

There is some whining about "cut and paste" market reports on Active Rain...  some seem to think it is directed at my blog. Here is the dilema?

I can post just the graph and the chart with nothing under it and get NO points.  When I add in anything descriptive such as:

"The numbers above are single family, townhouse and condominiums for sale and sold in the City of Dublin (Dublin Corporation.) The graph and chart  show market demand by comparing current inventory to number of homes sold in a 15-month period.   Dublin Ohio is in Franklin and Delaware County, but for Active Rain, Dublin is considered Franklin County, these statistics are for the entire corporation regardless of county. Sales are down in Dublin, it's a great time to buy.

Active Rain awards me 200 points.  I don't blog for points.  I had a campaign to get Active Rain to deduct points for blogging for me.  Just award me points for invites, and comments... I could easily coast on those until others in Ohio catch up with me... I thought Caleb and I had an understanding.. he deducted points once or twice but has since ignored my emails.  This is getting long...

My question to you Jay is.  If I did not have that info in the bottom, thereby not getting points for the entry would it matter to you as a non graph / chart  kind of person?  I think it is legitimate info for people who are into looking at graphs and charts but I am getting sick of emails from Active Rainers saying so and so is blogging about "cut and paste market reports and I think it is directed at you."  I know they have good intentions in letting me know about the ranting /whining but.... it's whining.

I blog for Google links... There should be one for this Dublin erntry sometime today.  There's one for yestereday for my entry for Worthington and I assume the rest of the blogs.

Sorry this got so long.

MM ~ if they are directing their comments at you, they are the losers.  Your community information is topical and interesting, its a valuable resource to the public.  AR is about many things, blogging for other Realtors is just one of them.  Geeze what's a matter with people?

Overly concerned with others points is I guess the point.

I've told you before, I covet those graphs.  Though I would like a slightly different color.

Market reports belong on ActiveRain.  Afterall, we are blogging for consumers not for each other.

Of course Market Reports belong on Active Rain...why would there be a place marked Market Reports for them if they did not.   I am thrilled with all the activity on them this month.  Usually they are ignored by Acive Rainers, well a few have inquired, coveted, but I've never got this many comments ;-)

What  colors would you use?  It is not flexible in that way but if I ever change my photo I may have to color the.png file to match...

MM: My comment & question was sincere. Medford loves graphs & charts—eats them right up—and can make accurate conclusions quickly—I have to study them much more. By all means, keep on with the graphs.

Not super fond of the lime green. Of course, my whole other blog is a very obnoxious color of green.  Changing the color scheme is beyond me technically right now.

I think the green is perfect for dublin ohio!

Clintonville in Blues

It was very easy to change the colors but I don't know why the background is gray now. This is Clintonville not Dublin....

Wasn't your blog white at first?  All very white?

Maureen,

Your {green} dublin caught my eye..Maybe cause I'm a wee bit Irish, who knows? I would imagine that the consumers in your area would want to see those graphs. As opposed to Active Rainers.

You need to put them out there. Most people don't comment on them. Would you care about the Market Report in Providence Rhode Island? Of course not. But your market would care about them.

And I know my opinion may not amount to much with you, but anyone who is sending you stupid emails about what you blog about or don't blog about, or how many points you get or not, should simply be ignored. Why change what you are doing because of someone else's opinion? Get your points and capture your audience. Its why we are here!

Karen: The emails aren't "stupid"  it's the Active Rain clique that spends their time on nonsense blogs belittling others and creating mischief online that don't make sense.  Active Rain is really going places, there are some great bloggers here and some great content.

I don't blog for points.

I have never gotten many comments on my Market Report blogs before but I have got clients from them.  If one of my competitors doesn't like Market Reports on my Active Rain Blog tough.
