Integrity
It is very important to determine the strength of your integrity. In other words, are you doing the best for yourself and your body? Are you stressed out? Eating or drinking too much? Running on adrenaline? Stepping over problems? Avoiding the truth in a situation? Not taking time for yourself? Without enough integrity, whatever you achieve will eventually fade because the "container" for your life is cracked.
Outcomes
As you focus on your goals, don't forget to work on the background stuff that keeps getting in the way. Many of us self destruct on the way to where we want to be because we have not addressed the underlying thoughts and behaviors that have kept us in our current state thus far. Goals are important - they are essential to your success - but your "why" or motivation is far more important to you getting to your destination.
Strategies
A coach can help you develop a strategy or a plan so you can achieve your result in the shortest period of time and with the least stress. If you ask how you can achieve X, then you are asking for strategy. Sometimes you will ask what action steps you should take, but you may want to begin by developing a strategy first because, with the right strategy, the steps become obvious.
A Change or Improvement
You want to change or improve something. For example, you may want to change jobs or improve a relationship. The trick is to discover if your change goal is what you really want or if it is something you want to do because it will get them something else, as in "If I get a promotion, I'll be more fulfilled." As a coach, I want to work with you on values first to find out what would fulfill you, because a promotion may not be the best, wisest or most expedient ticket.
