Fran's Friday Forum...NEW LITMUS TEST...!!!
I always enjoy reading Frans Post athough he may be a Republican ( I don't know and it doesn't matter) I judge people by way they appear to me not the way others persume them to be and when it comes to a blog I think you can judge them by their writings and when it comes to heresay or gossip I judge the person saying it to be describing themselves.
That being said it was asked years ago "are you better off than you were four years ago" Well I have added to that are the people around better off than they were four years ago such as family and friends.
There is the answer and it would be a resounding HELL NO coming from a Democrat, We as a country are split to the point that no other administration and congress has split this country like the current one. When we elected Obama we were sold on the fact that the government would be more transparent and when I say Transparent I want to know who in congress is stealing the money and taking every thing we have. I personally think Obama and Congress are bullies on the play ground wanting to take their marbles and go home, even the Democrats appear to be jumping off the ship. Obama problem is that he is an organizer which made him a good congressman but he is not a leader which has proven him to be a poor president.
He has allowed the Chicago Machine to run things and that was what I feared most, I personally like him but can't vote for him this time around, I think we will get more of the same but even worse because he will not have support of congress.
Many seem reluctant nowadays to discuss politics...It seems like the chasm between left and right, democrat and republican, liberal and conservative, has widened to such an extent that civil discourse has become a thing of the past...!!!
The success of The Tea Party movement has brought about the need to counter with the ‘OCCUPIERS’...AND SO...
I felt the need to create another litmus test to quickly ascertain which side of the political spectrum a person lies...
Cutting to the chase, it seems as though there are basically 2 factions...those who believe that big government is THE PROBLEM and those who believe that bigger government is THE SOLUTION...
Actually, I’m for minimal government intervention and tax reform, and, guess what...so are most of the people in my circle of friends...
I have observed, however, that people are reluctant to vote against the party that ‘FEEDS THEM’...unless their moral and fairness standards exceed their utilitarian needs...!!!
MY NEW LITMUS STANDARD...???
“Do you believe that Obama should be given 4 more years...”
If the answer is ‘YES’... move on...if the answer is ‘NO’...you may engage in civil debate or discussion...if the answer is ‘NOT SURE’...ask them under which rock they have been living or suggest they change their source of news...!!!
Yes...it is a shame that we are so polarized from each other, especially at such a crucial time in our Nation’s history when UNITY could be a valuable asset...What has become of The United...States...Of...America...???
