Make Blogging Part of Your 2012 Business Plan
I’ve read many comments and posts that talk about spending too much time on Active Rain – mostly tongue and cheek, but they say “in all jest lies some truth.”
At times I too have felt guilty because of the time I spend on Active Rain. That was until I realized that blogging regularly, if not daily is what puts my web-page at the top of page 1 on Google. For me, it’s been the best (ROI) return on investment for my time & money. I’ve received staging jobs, referrals, not to mention more than my fair share of the oh so coveted Google Juice.
The networking aspect of blogging is a bonus and the friendships you make on Active Rain are amazing and like no other network. It builds relationships which in and of itself is gratifying and lends itself to referrals – you never know where business is going to come from.
Incorporate blogging into your business plan and set aside time each day to blog. Like anything else it becomes a habit.
As 2011 ended I reevaluated where I was spending my marketing money wisely and where I was wasting my time. I left an organization that cost a pretty penny and wasn’t yielding anything in return. I was wasting my time and money, not something I plan on doing in 2012.
Lastly, blogging, networking and building relationships and subscribers on Active Rain takes time like anything else. Everyone starts at the same place so hang in there and just blog – it will happen!
