Speechless Sunday - Sonoma Coast

By

rocky coast north of Bodega Bay

After showing Bodega Bay property last week I took a leisurely drive up the coast. There are a few homes facing the risk certainty of falling into the ocean. This image shows the residue of former waterfront land now existing as rocks off the shore. Coastal property that fronts the ocean is beautiful and valuable, but just on loan from nature.

Dave, the surface of the earth changes so rapidly, our lives are so relatively short that we don't really notice this until we are faced with a picture like this.

David, what a gripping photo!  Like living with hurricanes or earthquakes ... it's not a mater of if but when!

I'm happy in the flat Nevada Desert!

Wow! We have spent a lot of time through 8 years of our kids high school at Rio Lindo Academy and enjoyed visiting the coast on Saturday. All the land is on loan to us - we just notice it on the coast bluffs.

Hi Dave - Great picture, and while our ability to control nature is just temporary, and everything's on loan, I'd live in that house just to enjoy the view from the deck until it all fell into the ocean - and I bet I could get it insured, too!

Dave, Great photo. If you crop the man-made objects from the left side it would make a fantastic card or could be enlarged and framed.

Definitely brings back memories of the several times I have spent time there. Is St Orres still there and the food as good as in the past?

Dave,

Great photograph, there is nothing like the Northern California coast line. Next time i am in Northern California i have to get over there for a day or so.

Dave, the photo is fantastic!  I am not sure how long it will take before mother nature turns the other cheek. However, living in this location must be totally awesome.  I am sure the homeowners feel like its worth the risk.
