Tree-Cycle your Markham Christmas Tree - January 10 - 20, 2012

Christmas has come and gone in the Town of Markham.  All the presents have been opened, Santa Claus has enjoyed his milk and cookies at your house and Mrs. Claus has now put him on his annual post Christmas diet!

What do now you do with your Christmas tree in Markham, Ontario?

It is time to "Tree-Cycle" your tree!!!

Markham recycles Christmas trees into mulch that is use in Markham parks.

It is very simple to recycle your Markham Christmas tree.  All you need to do is:

  • Place your Christmas tree at the curb by 7 a.m. on your Christmas tree collection day which will occur between January 10, 2012 and January 20, 2012.
  • Remove all decorations from your Christmas tree
  • Do NOT wrap your tree in plastic bags
  • Make sure your Christmas tree is loose - not frozen to the ground or buried in the snow

Refer to your 2012 Collection Schedule that you received in the mail.  You can also find the Collection Schedule at www.markham.ca or call the Town of Markham Contact Centre at (905) 477-5530.  You can obtain a copy of the Collection Schedule online or a paper version at any Markham Community Recycling Depot or Contact Centre at the Markham Civic Centre during hours of operation.
