Ring in the New Year by Cleaning out Your Tech Areas

There's something cathartic and wonderful about a new year. It's just one day on one side and one on another, but somehow it's a fresh start.

So why not give your tech storage areas a fresh start by freeing up storage space? Here are a few suggestions:

Phone - delete old names and numbers. If you can't remember them, you won't be calling them!
Phone cameras - I had over 1600 photos and my iCloud storage was maxed out. I've heard this is a girl thing because guys delete pictures and girls don't. Apparently I'm all girl, because I keep all of them - until the purge. Over 500 photos deleted, thank you. I feel much 'lighter' :)
Digital Camera - same thing applies here. If it's on the computer, does it really have to be in the camera? We all need to be backing up what's in the computer anyway.
Email - How's your inbox? We just switched to a new email account, so hours were spent making new files and putting Buyers and Listings into folders to reduce the Folder numbers. Deleting many other older emails cleaned up the inbox as well.
Documents on your computer - Putting all those loose documents in Folders will give your Documents file a true lift.
Photos on your computer - once again, delete, delete, delete! This was another evening event when many photos and even some folders were deleted, and it felt great!
Desktop - how does your desktop look? My Macbook was so cluttered with screen shots I could hardly see the beautiful background. Trashing most and saving the rest to iPhoto was such a great feeling.

How about you? How is your digital techy world? Organized or out of control? Take a few hours to reign it back in and enjoy the accomplishment of being in charge again in the New Year.

I am NOT a clutter bug in my real world OR virtual world. it makes me crazy!!! Clutter always has and I find ways to put all those things into categories. This is a great post!! It really makes you think clearer and not get side tracked with an errant "thing" that one might think needs tending to!

Why hasn't this been featured? Perfect posting for getting organized for the new year!!! Suggested.
