Could 2012 be your best year ever? Do you ever have "thoughts pop into your mind?" I have had (probably) thousands of them and that is how the Pumpkin Parade came about, and giving away over 20,000 pumpkins to kids. Creating a parade that began in front of our home and went through out the subdivision for two miles. Fire trucks, horses, antique cars, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine ROTC, marching bands, kids in costumes on floats, and four local TV stations somehow found out about it and put it on the news every October for 10 years. Oh by the way wearing an orange suit with green shoes I am sure helped also!
Could BEST YEAR EVER 2012 be happening to you? I BELIEVE BEST YEAR EVER 2012 could be the situation for me. I talk about things like that in my second book: THE FORGOTTEN ART.
One of the reasons I feel 2012 could be my BEST YEAR EVER, I already know of over a dozen real estate sales transactions I am going to have! I remember maybe 28 years ago in a December I knew of two sales I would have in the coming year, and that is about it....... To have a December or January and already KNOW OF over a 12 real estate sales I am going to have, I am sure when it is thought about is really more exciting to some other people than it is myself.
One advantage point I have however, is I do not have an assistant, am not on a team, do not have a team. So when the commission checks come in they all belong to Dan Dee McGinnis & the IRS.
There are only two possibilities I know of that possibly could affect this, one is the world coming to an end, as some have talked about and the other is Chase, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America filing bankruptcy. I have heard of that, so I am sure you have heard of it also. And even if those three banks did file bankruptcy, I could still experience BEST YEAR EVER 2012 because you don't have to have a bank in order to sell a home. I recall back in the 1980's when interest rates were 18% and I sold about 25 homes a year and all of my sales were OWC or OMC you remember those days? Were you in real estate then? Owner will carry, or owner may carry? The seller WAS THE BANK!
With all of the technology we have to take advantage of ALMOST ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE! Don't you agree? Let's quickly look at a few things that could make BEST YEAR EVER 2012 FOR YOU, and let's also look at a few things that you could do and cause 2012 to NOT be YOUR BEST YEAR EVER.
1st THINGS TO DO TO MAKE 2012 YOUR BEST YEAR EVER:
1 Talk to 8,000 people FACE TO FACE.......(Agents with less than five years in the business may not understand this)That is only that is only 160 a week or only 26.67 a day working a few hours six days a week.
2 Mail out 200 thank you notes (hand written) using 44cent postage stamps (that is ONLY four a week)
3 Go to worship at church 50 times (be sure and talk to five or six people FACE to FACE one on one!) (That is only once a week)
4 In a manner (without being pushy) let EVERYONE YOU MEET KNOW YOU ARE IN REAL ESTATE
5 Pray every day
6 Smile most of the time
7 Be the 1st one to speak to others and with a smile, and with energy and enthusiasm
EXPLANATION: Let's just break down one of the above items. You are thinking 8,000!?!? I did NOT say 8,000 DIFFERENT people.
Just to occupy some time (about 1 1/2 hours a day four days a week in 2011 I knocked on 850 doors nine times. The last time around out of 70 doors 10 people answered the door, out of 10 people answering the door, five of them TOLD ME WHO I WAS BEFORE I COULD TELL THEM WHO I WAS!!!
2nd THINGS TO DO TO NOT MAKE 2012 YOUR BEST YEAR EVER:
1 Hang around with Negative Ned and Debbie Downer
2 Watch CNN, FOX, NBC, ABC, CBS one or two hours every day
3 Do NOT believe, think, or say 2012 will be my best year ever
4 Stay away from people, don't answer the telephone, don't return calls within 3 to 59 minutes
------------One other thing to keep in mind, in 2010 and 2011 I was told I had three heart attacks and received stints on four different occasions -------I just never looked at it that way.....
