Does "As-Is" describe your 'Dream Home'?

By

"Does your 'Dream Home' start with the description "as-is".

That is a very good question that is presented in an advertisement in one of the current building trade magazines.

In some cases it does; at least in my opinion.  For those clients who do have the vision, the knowledge and the experience to make the conversion in a quality and timely manor, an 'as-is' sale has excellent potential.  They will need the cooperation of the entire family to achieve the goal, however.

For clients who do not possess the knowledge, experience and most importantly 'vision', it may not be the best choice.  Their may be a big finical advantage achieved over the course of their home ownership by purchasing a 'new' home or a nearly new home in excellent condition.

I will always remember the words of a great builder from many years ago; "Don't do what you want to do, do what you do best".

Dan,

Another blog with excellent advice. I like your builders quote. most folks have problems dealing with the concept of as is and what they would have to do to make this home a dream home.

Love the builder's quote.  Doing what you do best allows you the financial means to do what you want to do!

Dan excellent advice.  The words "as is" can mean so much or it may be nothing much at all.  It takes a wise person to purchase a home because there are so many little things that can turn out to be such big things.  A wise home buyer will think it all out and not find out later.  Don't just buy anything.
