For my first official "Rain Maker" blog I thought I would share an area of New Mexico that I have enjoyed since I was a small boy growing up in Albuquerque - Corrales NM.
Corrales is just right outside of Albuquerque and very close to Albuquerque's best shopping area which is the Cottonwood area. This area is peppered with restaurants, small shops, Costco, Home Depot, Lowes, Best Buy, Sam's Club - you name it and it is pretty much all right outside of Corrales. But to live in Corrales, you would never guess this type of shopping was a 10 minute drive away.
The Corrales "feel" is very unique and one that you cannot find in the rest of Albuquerque. There is a massive sense of community in this area and the locals are very proud of what they have established area. I would say a majority of the home owners in this area are lovers of all kinds of animals, and horses are very popular here. It is very common to see people riding in all areas of Corrales, which is why the local police authority does not put up with speeding AT ALL in this area. The speed limit is mainly 35 mph and you had better stick to it going through the village unless you just feel the need for a ticket. I have never heard of anyone talking their way out of a ticket in Corrales.
Selling Corrales homes for sale is an absoulte treat! Just the other day I was treated to a viewing along the Northern portion of Corrales which backed to the Rio Grande Bosque. There was a lot of time spent out on the back porch watching the horses graze while cranes called above along a pink, Sandia mountian sunset back drop. It really was awesome!
