Buying your first home can be exhilarating, terrifying, exciting...all of these things and more. We're here to help! We'll do whatever we can to put things into perspective, and we'll assist you in maneuvering what are probably unfamiliar landscapes. Here are some tips to help make things a little easier while you're still in the selection process.
When you look at homes online, you can see pictures of each property. Carry that process offline; when you view a home, bring a digital camera to take your own photos. Begin each series of pictures with a close-up of the house number so that you can easily identify and recall the property.
Take lots of notes on the special features and design elements (including things like colors) of each property.
Look around at each home's surroundings. What's next door? Is the home near a park or a power plant?
Immediately after leaving, rate each property on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being your favorite.
After you've been looking at properties for a few days, you probably will have a good idea of which one or two homes you'd like to buy. Ask us to show them to you again. You'll see things more clearly than you did the first time around. At that point, we'll double-check to ensure that an offer hasn't come in so that you'll know if these specific homes are still available to purchase.
