My Octopus Needs Help!

By
Real Estate Attorney

I need some assistance from my Active Rain friends.  I recently painted a mural in my daughter's room.  It is an underwater castle.  On one wall is an octopus tending his octopus's garden.  There are three plants in his garden.... 'Watecress' and 'catfish tails'.  I have another plant that I can't think of a name for..... any suggestions?

How about algae? I like the water lily idea, too.

Here's a few suggestions (lol):

Xanthosoma sagittifolium - elephant ear - Non-Native
Xyris species - yellow-eyed-grasses
Xyris ambigua - morning yellow-eyed-grass
Xyris elliottii - Elliott yellow-eyed-grass

What about calling it Seaweed?  Then again, why would you cultivate a weed.

Dave - Great suggestion.  I don't know why I didn't think of that!

Christina - 'sea kep' ... also a good suggestion.  I have the starfish and sunken treasure (as well as a smily shark, mermaid and other sea creatures on a different wall)

Jonelle - Thanks.  The coral and star fish are on a different wall.

Danielle - Thanks for the comment and suggestion.

Sky - Is that a 'happy' octopus or 'hippy' octopus!  :-)  Thanks for the comment!

Dan - I like the suggestions, although I don't think they'll fit!

Danny - Thanks.  I think I'll go with that suggestion.

Deborah - She has tried to come up with ideas for the name but we haven't found anything yet.  I thought I'd get AR to help!

Nicolette - Thanks!

Great mural, was it hard to do? I always wanted to attempt this but have yet to take the plunge!

Martin, well done, mate! What a great gift from Dad to his little girl. Awesome job. My son is a huge SpongeBob fan but I'm sick of him on the telly let alone the wall.

Yvonne - Not too hard... just time consuming.  Take the plunge.  You can always paint over it!

Deborah - I think it's a girl.  My girls had a girl hamster named Bob and a boy hamster named Sue.  It's the name of the plant, however, that the Octupus is working on that needs naming.  I think I'm going with Sea Kelp.

Andrew - Thanks and no SpongeBob's on the wall!
