3 AM

All of us in Real Estate know that the market is not what it should be and we struggle. Retail is in the same boat and can you imagine having to work at 3 AM in a retail store? The Arrowhead Town Center is a big mall in the Northwest corner of Phoenix and the Disney store at that location will open at 3 AM on November 23rd, the day after Thanksgiving.

Are there any other retail outlets in your area that open that early? Maybe it is a new trend and we should hold open houses early in the morning to get a jump on the day? (Just kidding)

Are you kidding? Places open at 3:00am ?! Around here in the boonies places close by 5:00 on the weekends, some are closed on Sunday. There is one convenience store/gas station that I think is open 24 hours and maybe the Stop & Shop is too but I'm not sure.

I remember being at Foxwoods at around 2:00am and unlike Vegas you can't shop or get a drink-the stores/bars are closed.

Jennifer - I think 3 AM is a bit extreme but they didn't ask me. I certainly won't be there at that time.

This has been going on in Bakersfield about the last two to three years. The first year I think they opened at 5:00am and had a ton of door prizes. The next year they opened about 2 or 3. I went by the year before last just to see what the fuss was about other than the door prizes. And there they were...lined up like cattle on the way to the slaughterhouse.
