Broaden Your Active Rain Subscription Base and You Just Might Save Some Money and Time!
Efficiency, Efficiency, Efficiency! I am reblogging this because there are now too many good ideas here in ActiveRain to think that opening the blog roll and gazing at it for a few minutes will gain you all the valuable information. This post tells you how to get the maximum return on your most important investment - YOUR TIME! As you spend more time on this site, you'll find that managing your subsciptions is one of the most important keys. Use that "subscribe" button!
The second advantage, not mentioned by the writers, is the multiple views available on any particular subject will give you a more balanced perspective, but that is a title for another blog, and I think I'll write that one myself.

For most people, your first thought might be that Active Rain COSTS you money, especially if you're in the sub-500k point range. You might also think you can't take on subscribing to another person, and we can relate to that too! And admittedly the more people you subscribe to, the less likely you'll read and comment on all of them (or even a majority) on any given day. There's only so many hours in a day, so regrettably the comments to some of the bloggers we initially subscribed to has dropped.
But the benefit of subscribing to MORE people is more exposure to great ideas, and sometimes ways to put money back in your pocket!For instance, a few months ago Bryan Robertson posted about a software program called PDANet. Basically you can use the software to tether your smartphone to your laptop for Internet access anywhere you have a decent wireless signal! Now be aware of your data allotment, in my case I have unlimited data, so this program that cost me less than $20 ONCE is a dream come true! Verizon charges $15 PER MONTH for direct tether rights, so do the math on that savings! Or if you're like me and travel a bit, those Boingo charges at the airport could add up fast too! And the program is available for Windows Mobile, Android, Blackberry, Palm and iPhone! SWEEEEEET! :)
And this wouldn't be the first time that someone's blog post has helped us evaluate some new form of technology and decide to decline, or use it! Active Rain is a collection of 200,000+ guinea pigs....no disparagement meant...but folks are trying EVERYTHING out there to improve their business! The more bloggers you read, the better opportunity you have to find the tips that save you money AND time!
So get out there and read! Keep growing your circle and enjoying the benefit of more viewpoints and more ideas!
